Fab Friday

Today I'd like to share this wonderful blog I found called Room to Inspire. She had this great, cheap makeover to some Dollar Tree pumpkins.

Dollar Store Pumpkins ~

Okay, I am now feeling the season. Fall is among us and that means Halloween is right around the corner! Oh, how I love to decorate for Halloween...

I recently picked these pumpkins up from the Dollar Tree.

I pulled out my Goodwill dictionary and Mod Podge and started covering each pumpkin.

Pumpkin Butterscotch Muffins

Oh, boy! It's finally cooled down here with record lows for northern FL this time of year. Let me just say I am quite excited. It's no fun sweating in shorts when you're supposed to be breaking out the sweaters, say farther north.

Anyway, this past weekend gave us the first cool Sunday. What did I do? Why, I got up and baked these delicious pumpkin-butterscotch muffins from scratch. Yep. From scratch. Am I a domestic goddess or what?

Take a look!

I give my new found goddess-ing to the cooler weather and my new kitchen update. (I'm redecorating it for fall so I'm waiting to show the after pictures once I'm finished and it looks all super snazzy. *crosses fingers)

Hooray! New Guest Bathroom

This is a before and after of my guest bathroom. It was a khaki wonderland before I took this on. Tile, walls and floors. B.L.A.H. See if you like the new ocean-inspired result.

Inspiring Interior Tuesday

Found this lovely bedroom and just had to share. All the colors go so well together, though there are lots. That's something I'm still mastering so it's good to see someone else getting it so right. Enjoy!

French Country Goodness

Thought everyone might enjoy this fabulous French Country post I'm linking to from greige.
It's so gorgeous and it makes me want to paint my whole house white and buy more burlap. Ah, je t'aime.

Bad blogger, bad!

Sorry folks, I've been a bit behind on uploading some of my recent projects. I've been taking pictures, but found a couple of last minute things I wanted to add before I uploaded them. Please forgive me, but I can give you a hint--I've almost finished my new backsplash and created my new girly office. Look for pictures soon!

(BTW: the reason I've been so busy is that I've picked up some fab freelance work for my "day job", which of course pays the bills--and I love it lots. So, there's my reason for bad blogging. ;) )

Inspiring Mod/Rom French Country room

http://prettyspace.tumblr.com/
Well, that's what I'm trying to call it. Maybe interior designers would scoff at my description, but it's what it reminds me of anyway!

This is from one of my favorite bloggers over at tumblr. She posts the most gorgeous interiors. Covet-worthy designs that hopefully will give inspiration to everyone. Be sure to look for more, I just can't help but sharing some of her finds. She's great!

$1 Purse Organizer!

So I'd been looking around for a while for a purse organizer. I like to change things up, but I HATE transferring everything. I know several are on the market, so I decided to finally bite the bullet and buy one. But when I went to scout them out, wow, were they expensive--at least to me. If they were reasonably priced, then they were too tiny to hold much. So, I held off, waffling back and forth if the ends justified the funds so to speak. THEN, while shopping at Dollar Tree, I found a little gardening bag...

And here was the one they wanted $25 for online...

Score! So this little gardening bag became a cheap purse organizer. I bought a couple so I could have an extra on hand just in case. It takes like two seconds to pop it from one purse to another now. A-mazing. And I love it even more because it was thrifty.

I have a lot comfortably in this: a full-size wallet, a medium makeup bag, and sunglasses, along with all the essentials--sanitizer, lotion, gum, brush etc.! See how it looks all put together:

Fall in Florida

It's hot here ladies and gentlemen. H-O-T. It's September 17 here, and we've had heat indexes of about 105 for the last three days. *swelter, swelter. Now, I love fall. It's my favorite season. But, I'll admit summer comes in as a close second. It's so weird being a FL transplant, and I still just can't cope with the lack of seasons. I'll admit, living in north FL, we get colder weather that mid and southern FL never see. The fronts come down from GA and sometimes it actually freezes here at night a couple days each year. But typically, we have Christmas either at about 45 or 75 degrees. It all just depends. I know right? How do you get into the cooler seasons when it jumps around so much?

So, I've decided I won't decorate for fall until October. I tried this last year and it was so much better. But maybe, I'll even wait until the two weeks before Halloween. My pool has a solar heater, so we swim at least through mid-October. Anyway, basically, I'm carrying fall in my heart and on my blog for now, but I'm sunbathing on my chaises here in FL until then...
